HarpDaddy & The BackCountry Mojo
Born and raised in Upstate New York singing in area churches, schools, and nursing homes, Darren Smith has deep gospel roots. Â Combining his gospel roots and profound love for the blues, Smith, AKA HarpDaddy, has become a staple in the local Alaska music community by sharing his unique view on blues. Smith is heavily influenced by Muddy Waters and his slew of great harp players, along with Howlin' Wolf, Son House, The Doors, Jack White, and Iggy Pop. Smith's set this year melds his blues influences with the psychedelic rock and proto-punk that grew out of the blues genre.
HarpDaddy will have you jumping up and down and leave you feeling good all over.
